Chimp Update

The Chimp-O-matic is alive and well. My best estimate is that the Little Divider is being loaded over 1.5 million times on an average week. I was kind of shocked a few weeks back to see that The Chimp-O-matic is was even #3 on Google's gadget rankings! Wow, this must be my 15 minutes of Internet fame, eh?

Against overwhelming odds, I didn't play Half-Life2 all weekend while my wife was out of town. Instead I caught up on a few little projects I've been meaning to do for a while. I've added some new flavors of Chimp like an RSS feed and a graphics-only version for sigs. (and any other odd things you might think of). I also added 10 new Bushisms, some funny, some just completely contradictory with his previous statements (can you say Flip-Flopper?).

Next I'm going to add a variety of Chimp heads and a tidy page with step-by-step installation instructions for all the different implementations.

You can add the Chimp to any forum/chat/etc. that allows graphics by using this reference:

Try to use other forms of the Chimp-o-matic when possible since, obviously, it takes longer to load a picture than text. The .JPG version is just for situations where you can't use JavaScript, XML, or Flash.

Love your site chimpomatic(and your blog regarding your two-year old was classic- as I have one of those litle "angels" myself!).
Here's another idea for you. (I would love to do it myself, but don't have the time): Ever written down how many times Bush uses the phrase "We're Working Hard", or "It's Hard Work"? It is almost unbearable to me how many times I have heard it in speeches, statements and other quick remarks throughout the past 6 years. I thought about starting a "We're Working Hard" counter to see how high it would go. Every time he discusses Iraq, there is some comment along the lines of "Those soldiers are doing their job to protect us, and it's hard work. Those men and women are workin' hard.".... Anyway, nice site. Good Luck.

Thanks for dropping by SB. I like the "hard work" idea. Maybe I could call the site "F*cking Up: it's Hard Work" or simply "All Talk, No Action"?

Ryan,

Noticed the webservice doesn't run from Chimpomatic.net. I tried hitting the WSDL from there but no luck. When I try to hit the webservice (on RyanRusson.com) with ajax from my system I get Access Denied. Can you help with this? Seems as though the web service is not remotely available.

Hi Timker,

Sorry you're having problems with the webservice. Ever since my router blew up last year, my old computer serving RyanRusson.com has been very unreliable. As soon as I have a minute, I'm going to set up all my Chimp webservices on Chimpomatic.net and reformat the old box. Please try again as it should be working at least 50% of the time. If you can send me an e-mail, I'll let you know when the webservices are stable. Apologies.
